Fires in California

Post by lv2wdwrk »

I have been a member here for a couple years watching and reading. Never had anything to add to what has been posted, but I think we all should be thinking about and praying for Rick. There has been a lot of "talk" about how much everyone gets from Rick's classes, but no one has said a word wondering how he is doing with the fires so close. I think the fires are closer to Chico than many of us may realize. Just a thought.

Thanks for thinking of me

Thanks guys for your concern. Yes, where the fires are in Butte county I can see them and there residual, smoke, daily. My family hasn't been able to spend much time outside over the last month. It seems impossible that the fires have been going on for a month, but today marks that day. I've had 4 friends loose there homes in the Camp Fire in the Concow and Paradise areas. Very sad. They are all artists of one sort or another and have lost everything. One friend who started a world famous glass company called Orient and Flume glass, lost all of his equip and glass that added up to about a million dollars worth. My family and I are safe here in Chico but all of the locations you folks have been hearing about on the news are just up the hill from me.
Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers, may God be in all our hearts,
Rick Davis

I guess it is time to resurrect this thread.

Sent an email to Rick - here is his reply.

Hey folks,
thanks for asking. I hope things are well with you. The closest fire to us is the Chips Fire up hwy 70 out of Belton. It's been burning for 22 days and only 32% contained. They say 11 more for full containment. 44,000 acres so far. The Red Bluff fire, Ponderosa Fire, is northeast of use. There's also one called the Mill Creek that's in between those two. Geez Louise. Our air quality in Chico almost prohibits any outdoor activities. All of our beautiful river and creek canyons now transport smoke from the fires at higher elevations down to us. I have to go so take care, Rick
