Another e-bay item. What was the Shopsmith adhesive used for? Is it wood glue? Bandsaw tire glue?

I think it was to glue the sanding disks on.

I remember them not shipping it in the winter because it would freeze.

It looks pretty old. I wouldn't buy it because most adhesives don't last more than a year in the container. I always date all my glue bottles when I purchase them because you can't trust them any longer than that.

It was rubber-based contact cement, and was used for attaching sanding discs as mentioned above. The can (and any glue in it) is probably 20 years old.
