Got a bargain I think.

Post by Beave2012 »

So I decided to hunt down an older shopsmith to convert to a dedicated drill press. In my search I ran into a 500 series in need of a new speed control and new belt. Looks very clean, very little rust. $350 and it came with a jointer, beltsander, jigsaw, bandsaw, Mark v mounted planer, shaper package, molder package, drum sander pieces, and a bunch of router bits by shopsmith. As well as a few pieces I don't recognise. Overall, I think it I got a nice deal since almost all is in great condition. Now I will just have to fix that headstock.

Greenie, Grayling, SS stand alone BS and BS SPT, jointer and belt sander, 3 Ers with Speed Changers. I think those 3 cover my ER needs, and space for them. :)

SPTs? Sorry, can't figure this out. Lol I assume you mean accessories I guess, but Ya I figured with a planer it couldn't be passed on. Luckily my father in law wants a bunch of it should be very little out of pocket and he gets a great deal on some tools.

SPTs separate power tool, or specialty power tool, the planer sells used for about 600 on CL alone.

No, you DID NOT get a deal!

Since you got taken, kindly ship the
bandsaw and jointer to MY location,
and YOU have to pay the postage!

Seriously, you SCORED! I'm just
messing with you! (But, I wouldn't
mind the bandsaw and jointer, if you
want to part with them. For free! :D

10 ER, stripped down.
Basic 10ER, Parts machine. Will be a semi-dedicated drill-press machine.
10 ER, a "survivor" of the trailer fire, in the back yard, needing restoration. Has a Mk5 headrest. Finally, stripped down.
Numerous parts, for Model 10 stuff. Except for lower saw guard, A and B adapters, I've got it.

Looking for one more, or some 9 inch extension table raisers.
