Scroll saw 555272 free standing.

Post by Genie »

I bought a 555272 scroll saw and have ordered the manual but it is taking forever to get here. I have been using the saw but wondered if there are any maintenance things that I should tend to before using much more, like lubing, tensioning, adjustments, etc.
Anyone have any advice what to look for.

I did buy a manual, but they didn't ship it yet. Will call tomorrow to see why they aren't shipping.

Why do they have a blade backup?

Give em sufficient time before rattling their cage!

Lets see. Very thin blade. Operator pushes workpiece into the front of the blade. Wonder how the blade reacts to that? ;)

The reason for adjusting at the top of the stroke is that that is when the blade is furthest back.

The blade will give the rest of the time.

The blade 'lopes' so to speak. Advances towards the workpiece on the cutting(down stroke) and retreats on the up stroke.

I have given them sufficient time.
The reason I ask about the backup is that I don't see the backup on other scroll saws.

Maybe it is a carry over from the jig saw.
