So I guess the $80 I paid for my dust collector was a good deal?

A very very very nice looking MK 2 on eBay. Buy it now $149.00. If I was in Illinois I would snap it up just to display it and document the development of the SS. You almost never see MK 2s and this one is beautiful. Wow!!!

I certainly would not pay that. You know there is not anything I want in my shop that costs $4000. Very nice looking machine. To me the value is reduced by not having an original bench. What he did is nice and is very nice work but not worth the additional price he is charging what ever that is. I would not pay that when I can buy the same machine for under $200 (I have 5 for less than $100 each) and referb it for under $300 in parts. Labor is an other issue. I am not in the business and am retired. I just do it because I love those machines and hopefully to preserve some of them.
