Same situation though. Clamps to table support tubes/rods which one does not want to mar.

OK! The brass threads are on the table height clamping knobs.

Thank you! Always nice to get the scoop from someone in the know.
I checked my vintage unit and it is not brass. So since I just put in an order I have the first part number for my next order.

Re: Adjustable stop collar
Is it reasonable for me to assume that this information comes from some documentation that you received from Shopsmith?moiramph wrote:Sorry I forgot to list the number, the set screw is 516240.
Does that documentation specifically state "brass tipped set screw"?

Admin is going to update the description online, the information comes from our Bill of material on the system. Initially I do not believe it was a brass tip, it was changed over the years.

Re: Adjustable stop collar
I understand the rationale for a description change but I am not going to rush to buy brass tipped set screws for my three stop collars. The set screws that I have work properly and do not mar the tubes.moiramph wrote:Admin is going to update the description online, the information comes from our Bill of material on the system. I certainly won't be buying set screws at the price shown here.

I believe this too is an error. Is 516240 the correct part number? Is it a screw or is it a set screw? No matter which, is the price correct?

For that price I hope it includes the price of the stamp to mail it.dusty wrote:I understand the rationale for a description change but I am not going to rush to buy brass tipped set screws for my three stop collars.
