Heads Up - Bargain Available Question

Post by dusty »

There seems to be a lot of traffic in the Heads Up - Bargain Available thread but has this thread been productive.

Question: Has anyone here on the forum purchased anything that they found as a direct result of seeing it in the Heads Up - Bargain Available thread?

Regardless of whether anyone has or has not actually purchased anything posted to this thread, it serves a useful purpose in that it exposes anyone who reads it to the stuff that is out there.

i.e. If one finds a 'bargain' and does not share that newly acquired knowledge, then no one else will be aware of it unless they too find it independantly.

I too would be curious re anyone actually purchasing, but, that is strictly out of curiosity.

There are geographical issues that prevent most of us from actually reacting.

I thought the thread was started and implemented to prevent "headsup" "bargains" being posted in other threads thus disrupting the flow of those threads ....

I'm not a regular reader of that tread, mostly because I really don't need anymore shopsmiths. So to answer the question I have not purchased anything listed that I know was listed. Or to put it another way I have not used the thread to find something to purchase.

I check it daily, it gives a good price value in different regions, and the CL nuts so,s, that think just because the new price is this, we should get that. Keep it, and based on Dustys post and threads is having a bad/negative night, IMHO :)

I was simply asking a question.

Has anyone here on the forum purchased anything that they found as a direct result of seeing it in the Heads Up - Bargain Available thread?

The answer seems to be YES. Bill Mayo bought some items that he became aware of as a result of the thread.

I don't recall if it was from the "Bargains" thread, but in July I did pickup a couple of Sawsmiths that I plan to restore based on a thread in these forums. I always look at the Bargain thread, and if I didn't have too many machines already (so my wife says...) I'd probably be calling about the Greenie down in Richmond...
