Bandsaw fence system???

Post by kalynzoo »

With this periods SS said about to end, I am still thinking about the Bandsaw Fence sytem. I think slow. Anyway, if I get 556031, the complete system, it says it will work with other SS fences. Since I don't think it will fit on the circular saw table, what are they saying? I like the idea of extending the fence out to the left. The micro adjustment would also be an improvement to my "cut and move a little system". Any comments would be appreciated. Guess I only have a few days to decide. Thanks, Gary

Hi Gary,
I can knot offer an opinion as I do knot own the SS bandsaw and accessories for it; however, I do want to offer up one thing: You probably have more then a few days to make your decision as I am pretty sure that it will go on sale again. Most items go on sale several times each year. :)

Hi neighbor! - Gary! That 556031 is interesting to me too! I've not seen that part before. It looks like Shopsmith's answer to the Kreig system. My guess is it would likely out perform the Kreig. (Looks like they dint offer the Kreig fence any more.) The thing looks pretty versatile.

I also am at a loss to know what they mean by - "...The Fence face can also be used with your Premium Bandsaw Fence on the MARK V or other Shopsmith tools." Unless the 520 fence is called a Premium fence and they meant to say it can be attached to the 520 fence.

It is also my guess the price will not go down from here. I'll probably be sorry that I didn't buy one.

I am sure the 556031 is the Kreg Delux Bandsaw Fence (556030 plus the mico adjuster and resaw fence). The regular fence is the 555645. I looked at it closley at the SS weekend. The micro adjuster and resaw fence can be purchased later at any number of sources including Amazon.com (no sales tax and free shipping). I intend to buy it on the last day of the sale (holding out for free shipping maybe?).

That is the Kreg fence. The fence can be used with your miter for cross cutting on the bandsaw or the tablesaw.

Wonder how come it is not blue, like the Kreig system?

My Kreg fence came without the blue paint. The micro-adjuster and reswaw guide were blue.

This is a great fence and I have been very pleased that I purchased it.
