I've not done it but I have seen one that was painted and well it was not pretty. I think they call that cabin grade.

However I see no reason that one could not do it using some epoxy paint and taking some extra time. They paint bathtubs don't they?

The main issue will be the prep work. Refrigerators have an enamel finish that I believe is baked on. You will need to get a good scuffing of the original finish to get good adhesion.

Yes it can be done with great results using paint designed for appliances. Once did a white to Almond conversion on a range that held up quite well through the years.

Did outdoor sanding and prep and then painted as directed.

Was really pleased. Take your time, watch the corners and you should be pleased.

You can practice on a piece of scrap metal you can find at many appliance stores if you need.

Some of the newer stoves have existing panels under the face that's displayed for example.

One caveat. Remove and replace the door seals Taking it black leaving a white seal is visually distracting.

Good luck

I wish I still had the picture, but I saw one that a guy had painted and pinstriped for a "Man Cave." Man, that thing was sharp!!!

Kitchen at a hunting lodge was outfitted with every appliance done in camo.

Really neat appearance. I guess stripes, whatever one can envision is pretty much doable.

I painted the freezer twice. Both times using the appliance paint. First time was right after the paint came out and the second about a year or two ago. The second time was much easier and I think the paint was much better. Same as painting a car which i have done three times.

I used the spray cans and because of the heat here in Florida I would have liked to been able to add a little thinner. It was hard to maintain a wet edge.

Ed told the trick. Keep each edge wet, no holidays or sags. We used lacquer back in the 1960's and 1970's. The type of paint has already been clarified.
