Bowed Cast Iron Bandsaw table.

Noticed that my cast iron bandsaw table is bowed in the middle. Happened to be checking for square and laaid my Woodpecker square down on the table and it caught my eye. Nice and flat in the edges but starting a couple of inches in on both sides it slopes to the center abour 1/16. Is there a remedy short of a bew table?

Do you have the table leveling latch and screws in place and tight?

Yes i do but only one screw attached. Thanks. Will get another screw and see if that helps.

Ok, I have the screws in and tightened as tight as they wii go but that had no affect on the table bow ib the moddle at all. Should there be washers ubder the clip?

Try loosening the table mounting bolts and let it rest for 24 hours. Then check it again. I try to check for flatness by using a good quality level. They are usually very true and straight. If that does not work I would try to lay it the hot sun to warm it. May not be an option for you in your location but gentle and even heating with a heat lamp may get it to return to a flat condition.

Or turn your oven on at the lowest temp, mine I can do at 170* for about 5 minutes after start, It will not be be 170* yet, put the table in and turn off and bake the table for 24 hours in the latent heat and cooling. If it only goes down to 210* turn on for about 3 minutes and turn off and insert for 24 hours. BTW in a gas oven add a minute or to to my times, if electric stay with them.

I asked my wife if I could borrow the oven for a few hours and of course she wanted to know why....well the oven is not an option!! LOL.
My garage has overhead radiant heat (220V) that may do the trick. I'd imagine that I will need to elevate the table within a few feet of the lamps. They do a great job of warming my garage and all the tools in it so I would think if I can get the table close to the lamp it may work. I'm using my Woodpeckers 1281 square to check the flatness of the table.
