Well they are cheaper here than a rib eye. The ones I bought yesterday a the Hill AFB Commissary were $5.25 a pound. Not sure what rib eye is but I think it is up around $8 or so.ERLover wrote:@ John B short ribs, can never figure out why they cost almost as much as a good rib eye steak on sale, and so much non meat on them. Only a few true short rib cuts on a beef side. But they are so good!! One site I checked on a few years back said 3 per side, this is Wikis description.

I really don't pay much attention what my food costs. Particularly in the Commissary since that is where I shop and it is almost always cheaper than down town. We eat what we like and want and I really don't care what it costs within reason.

Oh so much here to quote on recipes!!!! Okay, when I do Butter nut squash I do maple syrup in it, then then left over is made into butter nut soup with bacon and maple syrup.
Lamb, in the 80s driving thru the Dakotas on my way out to the Bob Marshall in MT Elk hunting, saw many local ranchers with bumper stickers, " Eat Lamb, 10,000 Coyotes cant be wrong"!!!!
I dont do many hamburgers on the grill, I do lamb burgers, garlic, rosemary, s&p and a touch of olive oil, mix, let sit for a few hours, then grill.
I think this could be a nice thread/sticky, JPG work on it please.
REMEMBER, REAL MEN EAT YOGURT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Back to our Up bringing
I've seen the classic 10ER family multitasking photo with it powering an ice cream churn, but I had no Idea that Magna actually advertised it for that purpose. Got any ads you can share? It would be fun to give that a whirl.jsburger wrote:Well, the 10ER apparently made one great ice cream churn since they advertised it as such.ChrisNeilan wrote:I bet a Shopsmith would make a mean heavy duty mixmaster...I made a Ricotta, Amerato, Orange pound cake today. The home made vanilla ice cream is churning as I type this. It is made with real whipping cream, two eggs and three yokes and a real vanilla bean. I have been making this ice cream for a long time. I can't remember the last time store bought ice cream was in this house.
