Rockler T track table

Didn't someone mention they bought the Rockler T track table top?
It is on sale and I'm thinking about it but I want opinions.
Any feedback would be appreciated!

I do not have one and have not used one but I can not help wonder why anyone would spend $250 on something that they can make in an afternoon. It is a piece of wood and some readily available aluminum t-track. Sounds like a really neat beginner project.

Price the t-track and good quality melamine board and you aren't too far away.

Ditto that, the few feet I bought, 24", was $25 ish, 30 or 36" were in there $30+ ish, then you need the "X" pieces, $10 each and you need 4 for each X, so you got about 115-120$ just in the T track plus the 16 X pieces and the base.

Yup, you are so correct. The required piece parts are well over $100. The table and fence along with any accessories that are included will put you well over any $100-$150. Should have known the reible would not have purchased one if it wasn't a bargain (well, at least well worth the price).

I've not purchased any yet, as I didn't know about it prior to purchasing other brands, but Orange T-Track is much less expensive.

It depends on what you plan to use it for. Check out the dimensions real good before you commit. It is not directly compatible with the Shopsmith gear.

I had started a table design before Rockler came out with theirs. It was actually pretty similar but when I figured the cost factor and the labor effort it seemed reasonable to just buy one on sale rather then make it. If I were really cash strapped or wanted the adventure I might have gone the other way.

As far as t-track, the one that Rockler sells takes both 1/4" and 5/16 hardware. Since I have both it made since even in my plans to use that style of track. Again while it costs more it add functionality and even if you don't have 5/16 hardware now you might in the future so it is well to plan ahead. These are all personal maters of taste and preference and cash on hand.

I wanted such a table and had thought about making one for a long while before getting one so I had the desire for something like this for maybe 20 years before I actually got one. After having it I wonder why I waited so long. Ah the story of my life.
