If I had anything to do with it, there would be far more threads/posts deleted or locked than there are AND several members of the forum would be on notice. The forum is going down hill fast.
I quite agree with everything I put in bold, Dusty.

I also agree with Agale Dusty... I used to be very active here but I get turned off by the politics especially the rude crude stuff. I do still read some threads but I tend to watch who is posting and just skip over many threads started by some members.
I find it very sad that some (regardless of position) really believe that saying something insulting to others is somehow going to magically switch everybody's opinion over to theirs. In my case I just tune them out and ignore their postings, probably often even when they have something valid to say about woodworking.
At a family reunion last summer I was sitting and chatting with a couple of my wife's brothers with a bunch of other people around us (we are all woodworkers) and one brother started talking politics. Her other Brother just said "Over the years I have observed that talking politics or religion really never improves a social situation." That was enough to bring the conversation back to family and woodworking... It may been a little ironic that the 3 of us agree on politics... If we 3 had been fishing or walking in the woods we would have talked politics but it just didn't belong at a family reunion where we had finally pulled in a lot of related people, many of whom had never even met before...

Rule #1 - The operator / administrator of any internet group gets to make all of the rules. if it is just too difficult to respect the rules including the spirit of the rules then maybe it is the wrong group...
I miss how this group was a few years ago and fully support the administrator in his efforts to keep it running clean.

Now I will go post something relating to my own dorky stupidity in my woodshop this morning.

Again we be at the precipice of censorship.

Being a diverse group, we have differing opinions and variable tolerance of each other.

If we be thinking of 'purging' I suggest looking at our own faults first. That seem familiar this season?

IMHO only one has the right(responsibility) to censor. It is not up to any of us to second guess Admin.

Yes yesterday was out of control. I did not deem the original post worthy of the furor, but not in the best taste either. I did think it funny, but I hazard to say Thunderdirdbat possibly did not.

Now it is easy to be intolerant and stomp feet and chose to not participate. Far more educational to stick around and learn tolerance of others.

Oh and by the way(I be presuming here), It appears to me that Admin misses very little and does not need to receive PMs regarding content other than spammers.

I never mind the PMs. Sometimes I am more delayed in watching the forum than other times.

On the issues here, I understand the concerns. But, our purpose of the forum is to support Shopsmith owners and products. The forum may be some peoples first direct contact with Shopsmith and I want that first impression to be a good one.
