Home Depot added feature I just noticed today

Post by reible »

While we have a bunch of these stores around here it is not my top choice for various reason. One of them was them trying to force me to use the self-check out. If that is the only aisle open I simply ask they open another aisle or leave the product and walk out. So of late they seem to have gotten the message that not everyone wants to use the self-check out and at least for now that has been good.

Anyway, that is not what I wanted to talk about. I found an item that they carry and their prices were better then even Amazon on this item. They had them in stock and I also happened to see that not only did they say they had them is stock but also where they are located! After my last Lowe's adventure when it took several people to find the location of an item in this case they are telling me where to find it.

I went into the store, walked to aisle 14 went looking for bay 019 and there it was! They also have an offer to send you a text message to your cell phone so when you on your way to the store it gives you the location information, didn't want to give out too much information but it might be worth while not having to write it down.

That's it my great find of the day, well that and the new tool I got.

The product locator works great for me, as long as I don't try to use it while actually inside the store. If I am, the GPS signal is apparently blocked, and the gosh-danged mobile website is convinced that I am near Washington DC, despite my best attempts to tell it otherwise.

I don't mind the self check-out, unless I have lumber, in which case I use the contractor checkout register. Never had a problem doing that. I think they would be happy to check you out there no matter what you are buying. I've also checked out at the service desk once or twice.

Having to show an id to prove age when you are 75+ in order to purchase rattle can paint is real convenient also.

Dang, you must look GOOD for your age! :D

My gray hair has so far passed muster for rattle-can purchases. Perhaps the folks in charge down your way sniffed a bit too much during their own adolescence ...

As for my own teenage self, I must plead guilty to painting many free-flight, control-line, and R/C model airplanes without adequate ventilation. Is that why they called the paint butyrate dope? Never noticed a buzz, but mild headaches were not unusual. :o

I must have an honest face, they have not carded me for spray paint, well yet anyway but then I'm still 38 so that might be why.

I just dislike the self-checkout stuff. We tried it when they were first starting it but every time we ran in to problems and had to be helped anyway. After a few times I got to disliking the whole thing.

I'm going to show you this picture in hopes of this thread not becoming a foodie thread, wish me luck.

Home Depot has them for $19.97.

Still have to order the sticks but one thing at a time.

Red hair(at least mine) does not turn gray. It just gets lighter.

There seem to be an overabundance of mental dwarfs around here that cannot or will not use any resemblance of common sense. i.e. Card EVERYONE.

BTW in Tennessee the law says just that re alcoholic beverage sales.

I got one of them yeller thingies a while back. Found it interesting HD did not stock the correct size sticks. I use the term 'interesting' loosely. Actually I was pi....

Plus one on disliking the Home Depot self checkouts. :( The few times I tried it there was always a problem.
Now I always use the Contractor checkouts. :)

JPeG, my red hair expired when I was 40 or so.

Now, grey would be the primary color, with dirty grey being
the secondary color.

10 ER, stripped down.
Basic 10ER, Parts machine. Will be a semi-dedicated drill-press machine.
10 ER, a "survivor" of the trailer fire, in the back yard, needing restoration. Has a Mk5 headrest. Finally, stripped down.
Numerous parts, for Model 10 stuff. Except for lower saw guard, A and B adapters, I've got it.

Looking for one more, or some 9 inch extension table raisers.
