Got it, unpackaged it and fitted it to the bandsaw. I'm at least bright enough to put the pointy parts forward and then tension and it all seemed good.
Did a test cut on pine, no problem but seemed as dull as my last blade. Did a test cut on maple and red oak and it burned the sides so bad as to be useless, although the smoke smelled good. So in looking at the blades, it looks like to me, the points of the hooks are facing UP. My assumption is they would face down.
So what am I doing wrong? Is there any way to get a blade on upside down? And no, this is not the first blade I've changed on this bandsaw but it's the first one that has burned my wood on a straight cut. Since I paid extra for the premium blade, I'm a bit disappointed and confused at this point.
