Re the small nut, sorry I can't see what is inside without dropping the motor but it is close to the hole where the power cord exits the headstock. I suspect it is there to fasten the power cord on the inside (strain relief). Kinda thought that on the HS wedge all of mine are single. Strain relief dont no, all of mine again had a knot from the switch to the motor in the motor plate, or was it in the cord to the switch, I forgot.
