Mystery parts for inherited shopsmith

Thanks for the info. I know he had a planer both from receipts and from the fact that he made furniture from trees in his back yard. I'll have to research the guide a bit.

The item on the right is a Rip Straight table saw ripping guide or possibly another brand of the same thing. I believe the Rip Straight although not Shopsmith can be used with the SS. The bottom center is a cover from the right side of a SS plainer.

You are absolutely correct. I just sold one with my Craftsman contractor saw. It is called the Ripstrate from Fisher Hills Products. I never used mine, because feather boards were easier to setup.

The bottom left part is from a power stand belt cover assembly.

The planer cover could find a good home 'here' if you need to get rid of it. I need one to convert a manual feed to a motor drive feed. PM me if you wish(or email).

I recently inherited a 1976 ShopSmith Mark V 500 from my grandfather. He passed away 22 years ago and my father inherited the ShopSmith at that time. I was essentially abused and neglected until his death last fall. My brother packed up the ShopSmith and brought it to me mostly disassembled. I have finished rebuilding the headstock and removing the rust and lubricating everything (quill was locked up when I got it as was the sheave on the motor). I have gone through the many boxes of parts and have identified everything except what is in this picture. Looking for a little help. It is possible that some of these parts have nothing to do with the ShopSmith.

The black triangular bracket at the lower left of your photo looks like SS part number 504083. I knew it looked familiar, but it took a quick search of my shop to pinpoint it. It's item #11 in the pulley guard kit (505862) for Power Stands and such.

The photos below show it on my old-style jigsaw and Power Stand. From the manual, it seems that part wasn't needed for all of the SS special-purpose tools, so it's probably safe to assume that yours is an orphan.

Thanks for the pictures. This actually makes sense to me as my grandfather made his own power stand that I have a jigsaw mounted on. Looks like he bought this kit with the covers, but didn't need this part for his custom stand.

The contraption on the right whould have two small wheels on it. You clamp it on the rip fence and the wheels are canted so it pushes the wood in to the rip fence. If you PM me I have the pamphlet floating somewhere around here. It is called of made by Rip Strate. I got one in a box of parts when I bought a SS at a garage sale.
