EVER DO SOMETHING STUPID?

EVER DO SOMETHING STUPID?
Well, if not for my stupidity, I’d have no fun in the shop.
yesterday, after meticulously preparing some rails for a project requiring pocket screws, I set the pocket hole drill too deep and drilled completely through the ends. Not just with the little pilot but the whole thing.
Inattention, forgetfulness, plain idiocy or old age. Dunno, but it's frequency is becoming annoying.
Anyway, I salvaged the piece and a bit of self esteem with some oak dowel and glue.
The owie is fixed and my mood is improving.
Please tell me that I'm not alone in these cognitive lapses.

You are not alone.
I believe it is called AAADD, (Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder).
Unlike a chameleon that cannot change colour.
which is "a reptile dysfunction".
Nice save on the pocket holes.
all the best

Think of stupid acts as opportunities to develop recovery techniques.

If we learn from our mistakes, I should be a genius now.
No such luck.

Re: EVER DO SOMETHING STUPID?
Hmmmm
you mean like this??
I keep telling myself it wasn't a mistake, just a subconscious desire to get the K5
Or maybe I can call it a "product enhancement"
Of course if you don't have pictures it never happened!
Me, I have no excuse.
Be well,
Ben

Ben, the collar was on and tight. Just on and tight in the wrong place. Looks like you forgot to put it on or, not tight. Anyway I got a couple divots only. No product enhancements. Not even worth a picture.
