510 Saw Guard

Post by lalkie »

I have a 510 and appear to be missing part of the saw guard. Facing the saw blade there is an inner guard item number 202 help with dust collection. On the right side there appears to be nothing to assist with dust collection. There are two 3/16 24 thread studs that appears to be used for mounting a plate to assist with dust collection. Am I missing something? I looked at the exploded view of the saw guard but did not notice anything that is mounted. Has anyone put a plate there to assist with dust collection? I put a piece of 1/4 inch plywood 13 1/4 inches long and 3 inches high. I will have to slot the holes to make it adjustable. What other solutions has anyone tried. Thanks Larry

Hi,

Anyway you could get us a picture of what you have?

The only part that sound like what I'm understanding you to be saying is part of the table system. It is a thin plastic part that mounts to tie bar with two screws. It is called a tie bar guard and is item number 514115 (on the table diagram #155).

If I get some time this afternoon I take a picture of it and post.

From what you decide scribe you are missing the outside piece of the Saw guard. It mounts on the two studs that you mentioned and slides in and out in order to control the width of the opening so that the opening around the blade can be set for a blade or a wide Dado set.

I agree with Bill. It is item number 204.

Thanks for the help guys. I was looking on the saw guard exploded view instead of the table exploded view. Again I appreciate the help. Larry
