No you are not an idiot!!!!!

If the washer is supposed to be oblong an idiot at the factory should have installed it properly.

However I do not think it is supposed to be oblong.

Call CS and get a replacement.

Don't rejoice until Shopsmith has sent you a part that works as it should AND is round.

Hmmm. The temporary fix is an oblong washer in a round hole :eek: .

I'd sure like to see some photos of this defective washer and how it was originally installed.

As long as it fits the right way plus some gaps on 2 radiuses :)
