I noticed a new set screw when I looked at the shopsmith 5/8" arbor. It looks like it has a brass tip!
I have a variety of set screws with a variety of lengths and different set designs. Some are flat at the securement point and some have the little teeth and the 5/8" arbor has the most unique one with the brass tip.
I have noticed in the past that the set screw will sometimes back out of the 1 1/4" saw blade arbor which I feel is dangerous and it seems like the arbor actually has some movement on the quill hub.
I was wondering what set screw people use to secure their table saw arbors to the quill hub on their Shopsmiths to prevent loosening.

How much torque do you apply when securing the set screw of the tablesaw arbors. My SPTs are secured with the set screws with teeth and I lock them in place with blue loctite but with the saw arbor coming off the quill more often than the hubs coming off of the SPTs, I can't really lock it into place with loctite.
Cheers,
John
