Yup, very good presentation and a good technique.

You have given me a good idea. The next time that I make ZCI, using my sled, I am going to turn the zci over, crank the blade down (table up) so that the blade just scores the ZCI.

This would not be worth while for those who do not center the blade during alignment but I do.

This is exactly how I found the wobble in my main shaft.
Great thread.

After doing exactly what you have done ,,,,,,I noticed with out moving any thing,,,, table or quill ,,,,,,my cuts were all ways widening the kerf on the insert ,,,,I used a dial indicator on the blade it was spot on,,,,, then I wobbled the shaft ,,,, up to 10 thousandths off ,,,,I could cut by hand with a knife a chisel and a +60 year old dado plane much more accurate .
