Dust Collector

Post by joedw00 »

Need help on how to remove the housing of the DC to see why I have play in the fan. I can move it back and forth, and it makes rubbing noise. Was only using for dust control when started making noise, no hose was attatched

I had the same problem as I could not get it out of that area even with clamp off. Mine would suck but not enough to blow up the larger cloth hood. Any suggestions? From what I could see the fan blade is not damaged.

I just took my DC3300 apart last weekend to replace all the seals. It's probably not just tight; there are two hard to spot screws you may have missed. Look behind and below the motor box (in your photo) between the "fins" on the outside of the machine underneath the motor vent area. There are two screws there holding in the unit. Take them out (and disconnect the power connector in the same area) and you should be able to lift the whole assembly out with minimum effort.

kschwarz20 beat me to it. Here's a picture if that helps any. The plastic bag is hiding the one to the right.
