connection not secure
When I log on in firefox I get a warning that this connection is not secure. How would I remedy this?

Re: connection not secure
Did you recently upgrade to Firefox 52? If so, that is your problem. Firefox decided that you should be harrassed with this new notification that earlier versions didn't do.
If you want, you can turn off that notification. It still won't be secure, but it never was on most sites. Or, try a different browser that doesn't check for that.

Re: connection not secure
Settings in Firefox are available if you type about:config in the URL box at the top of the screen. Then, search for "secure". You should see "security warning enabled" or something similar. If it is set to "true", you change it to false by doubleclicking on "true" so it changes to false. Then close it out and it shouldn't warn you anymore.
Re: connection not secure
I've been on 52 for a while now and this warning has never shown up here. I don't think this was an auto turn-on with 52 or at least it wasn't for me.
Does it appear only here at the shopsmith site or at most places?

Re: connection not secure
I've seen it on many sites since I started using 52.
Re: connection not secure
It is a month old now and as I said I don't see it, not here not anywhere. I wonder why the differences?
My other pc also doesn't see the issue. Different configurations and hardware but the same software releases.
I wonder if it has something to do with the windows version one is running. I'm on the fast ring and downloading the first build for the next release(redstone 3). Some times these early builds can be a bit of a pain. I'll see if that shows up any changes in this.

Re: connection not secure
The security warning should show up only when you are in the process of logging into that site. Any site that uses a HTTP page instead of an HTTPS page will likely trigger the message.
If you save your login and password so the browser stays logged in, it won't show up until you need to log in again.

Re: connection not secure
I have seen the warning a few times lately but do not know the circumstances when it occurred. I have known that the sites were not secure so I didn't pay much attention to it.
The link above (by garys) is interesting reading and probably fair warning.
