And this was one of them. Fresh strawberries inside too. MMMMMMMMMM
Sorry you couldn't have been there to some with us.
Yes I shared with my wife, half and half cause I still didn't want to go way off my diet.

Pshaw, Ed. I wish you had called to let me know you were in trouble. I would have brought the Reddy whip or Cool Whip and helped you out of your dilemma.

Yep, only thing here with mom is real butter and real whipped cream, dad lived to be 93, mom is going to be 97 on May 15. None of that junk stuff here. Nephew the food chemist/scientist sez that that other stuff is worse for you then the real thing.JPG wrote:I would have brought REAL whipped Cream.swampgator wrote:Pshaw, Ed. She was at her primary Dr on Tuesday and all is well.
A little treat is okay, being pure is no fun.

The Greatness officially starts
Greenie, Grayling, SS stand alone BS and BS SPT, jointer and belt sander, 3 Ers with Speed Changers. I think those 3 cover my ER needs, and space for them.

Yup. Just use the natural stuff. Only real butter here, heavy cream is in the fridge all the time, whole milk, I cook with olive oil and fresh vegetables. No junk food here. No fast food restaurants. A Domino's pizza maybe once a month when I am not inspired to cook.ERLover wrote:Yep, only thing here with mom is real butter and real whipped cream, dad lived to be 93, mom is going to be 97 on May 15. We lived close enough that on a Friday night after school we would drive up to the the lake and net them during the runs. Sometime were better some times were worse. My Mom would hear us come in and get up, it would be like 3:00 in the morning and fry batches up until we all had our fill. Egg's sunny side up and toast and piles of smelt.
A few times we got skunked, either miss timed or they were not where we were but there was enough of the good times for us to make plans every year. Oh those were the days. A lot of extra adventures too but this is not the place to discuss them.
Towards the end this sort of thing was loosing appeal, too cold, too wet, too many miles for too little fish. A lot of people were just driving up and getting a bucket or wash pan of fish from the commercial fishermen, and you could do that during the day....... And then there was the wind, if it was from the north it had too many miles to build up waves and shore fishing with nets just wouldn't work.
On one of our last outing we almost lost one of the crew. You wore either hip boots or waders and seine net and made a loop out in to the water then looped back to shore. Of course it was pitch black except for a few flashlight or coleman lanterns and a few camp fires. The ice had just gone out, water was just above freezing and the coast was pretty much an unknown. One of the guys in waders was trying to get way out to have a better catch but ended finding a small drop off. He had the presents of mind to hold on to the net or he would have been a goner. A couple of guys rushed out grabbed the net and pulled him in. That was way to close a call. He was soaked, the couple of guys who rushed in were soaked and it was like 35 degrees. We all survived. No one minded going home early and lack of catch.
