New (to me) Mark II

I just purchased a Mark II and I'm trying to find how to get back to working condition. I read somewhere that the Mark V parts fit the II, but I wanted to confirm.

Specifically, I'm looking at the lathe spur and live center.

Those two items 'confirmed'.

However do you have the 'socket' the live center mounts in? It attaches to the aux table(right end).

It might be a good idea for you to post a pix of all you have. Much of the Mark 5/V stuff will 'fit', but there are some idiosyncrasies. The tail stock mount is one!

Oh, BTW, a M5 tailstock will fit if the MII tailstock mount is missing.

I know Shopsmith says they have no parts for it and it wasn't made to the same standards, etc., but:

They do have a copy of a manual for it and will reproduce copies of it which you may find of benefit if one didn't come with your purchase.

Manual, Parts List and Exploded View Drawing - Item #877084 It's $12 plus shipping.

Second, eBay has bits and pieces from time to time show up when someone finds a salvage Mark II unit they part out and sell piece by piece.

Lathe spur and live center should be common parts if the spindle is 5/8" Your tailstock should be #2 Morse Taper so the live center is available.

Good luck with yours. Learn how to lubricate it, clean it, and wax with Johnson's paste wax. Keep saw blades cleaned and waxed as well.
