Polychromatic

Post by jbooher »

Polycromatic is another way of say segemented turning. If any of you are interested, Marc Adams School of Woodworking is hosting the first Segmented Turning Symposium November 14-16 in Indianapolis. The feature speakers are Malcolm Tibbets, Curt Theobald and Bill Smilth. The guess speaker for the banquet will be Lincoln Seitzman. He is one of the first to do segemented turning and uses a 1950's Shopsmith. If you are interested go to:http://www.segmentedwoodturners.org/index.php

Thanks James,

That is very interesting info even though I won't be able to go. That area south of Indianapolis, by Franklin, we drove through last Thursday on the way to Brown County. In the Fall the area is extremely beautiful with the changing trees. (I also saw one artisan in Brown County who made all his stuff from sassafras wood.)

Thanks for the info. Can't go, but it looks like a great program. I keep hoping I'll get to one of the SS weekends, hope they continue. Anyway, I enjoyed the pictures.

Turning in Indy

My instructor is attending that event next month. Apparently he goes every year and says it is quite informative.
