weight of old bandsaw vs new

Post by AKTroy »

I've tried to find information on the weight of the old bandsaw with the cast iron table to no advil. It appears the new one is 45 pounds with the aluminum table, so presumably the older one was heavier.

Can anybody tell me what the old bandsaw weighed? They are certainly a much better deal to purchase and a lot easier to find, but if it's 10 pounds heavier than the newer version, that may be too much for me to lift.

No doubt cast iron weighs a lot.

Thx,

Troy

Weight was an issue for me too. So, I mounted my bandsaw on a Power Station.

According to the manual for my bandsaw with cast-iron table, the total weight is 45lb. The table surface is a fairly thin, with a reinforcing rim and ribs, and it's smaller than the aluminum table.

I haven't weighed it, but my impression is that my bandsaw is heavier now that I switched out the old cast iron table for the bigger aluminum one and added the Kreg fence system to it.
