Thanks charlese! The missus has been OK with the refit thus far. So long as it comes with all of the options she wants...

I'm still making good progress up in the V-berth. I'm trying to make sure I cut and fit at least one panel with each visit to the boat. I finally got the "desk-like structure" cut and dry-fitted. It's turning out pretty much like I envisioned in the concept drawings.

I cut and fitted the last fir top panel and all of the ribbon stripe mahogany ply that tops them. It took longer than I'd hoped to get it done, but I'm very satisfied with the way it turned out.

I spent the better part of a day making one molding for the V-berth. It turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself. But at this rate, this boat's never gonna get done. lol

While building out the V-berth, I've been thinking about how I'll do the air conditioning in the area. I realized the plan I had before wouldn't work, so I'll be putting a self-contained marine AC unit in the "desk-like structure" rather than in the closet. I'm going with Flagship. They're significantly more expensive, but their products are commercial/military grade and made in the USA. I made a shelf inside the "desk-like structure" that will support the unit. The whole thing will be hidden behind a sheet of mahogany plywood that I'll fit later.

The heat in the tent is still killing me, but I'm making progress all the same. I got the V-berth bed foundation upright panels sealed and insulated on the back-side.

I took a brief break from the V-berth cabinetry to get some repairs and paintwork done with Awlgrip Matterhorn White. One of the pieces I fixed is the actuator housing for the helm center windshield that opens. It's shiny now, and I improved the robustness of the screw holes so they won't crack and break apart again. I think it turned out quite nice!

I got the last of the V-berth cabinet panels around the bunk cut, dry-fitted, and varnished. It was tricky because I need to be able to remove the shelf and walls for maintenance access, so I ended up using friction fit rabbets that the wall panels slide into. Moldings with pins will lock it all in place, but it's a tight enough fit that there won't be any rattling when under way.

I did the last of the prep work on the V-berth bed foundation panels. It's not especially glamorous sealing and insulating the back-side of cabinet panels, but it's got to be done. Once the epoxy cures, I can install all of these panels and get the V-berth that much closer to done.

I finally got all of the prep work done and started installing the upright wall panels that go around the bed foundation. It's looking pretty good, I think!

I got speakers installed in the forward bulkhead, the last of the upright panels around the bed foundation in, and the outer closet mahogany panel is bonded in place. Oh, and I'm fitting the HVAC duct for the V-berth head, too.

Got a lot of stuff done this week. It's coming together.
