Picture Frame

Hi,

I made this actually last year but thought I'd post it now. LMOL's and my original honeymoon was in Hawaii but was a stressor due to family events, sickness, etc. A few months after the honeymoon we took a more relaxed, rustic trip to the Grand Canyon which to this day is a favorite memory.

The picture-frame I made was just to encase a travel souvenir poster. I had also some colorful mini-slabs of wood from a fallen walnut branch down the street (courtesy of the Shopsmith Bandsaw). I put it all together as you see here.

Hey, Chris! Thanks for posting a photo of this frame! It is very interesting to my Western ilk! It looks like a Southwest frame for a Southwest subject. Unique and attention getting! Neat that you could incorporate some of the neighborhood walnut. (there's some more personal flavor)

Of course, what's best about it can only be appreciated fully by you and your wife.

Here is a 2nd Grand Canyon poster frame-up.
The 1st is in our house for several years.
The 2nd is brand-new this year, and now hanging in my wife's office.
I have enjoyed exploring non-Miter joints in picture frames. The joints here are halflap joints, and the stopped-rabbeting on the plank backs was done with my Overarm Router system from SS.

Very interesting frames. I like the back story and how the SS was used in the project. Very good pics too.
