Babalaisi did you understand Beave2012 about SPT standing for Special Purpose Tool and what the means? To explain it further they are the Band Saw, Scroll Saw, Belt Sander, Strip Sander, Jointer and Planer that attach to the Mark V or other Mark series machine and are powered by the headstock. SPT's do not have a motor of their own. They can also be put on a bench or stand and run by a motor through pulleys or on the Shopsmith Power Station except the Planer which is also available as the pro version on it's own stand. The Planer attaches differently than other SPT's to the Mark V or Mark 7.
