Headstock lock

Has anyone noticed that when you lock your headstock that it raises up a little

Mine definitely does. I have no idea whether that is normal but I do know it isn't a problem for me. I get consistent movement and everything stays in alignment.
Gale's Law: The bigger the woodworking project, the less the mistakes show in any photo taken far enough away to show the entire project!

The result of the 'wedges' wedging.

This is why securing all locks during setups is critical. They all take up slack.
