I just purchased this guard kit, because I take safety as a priority and this seemed better than buying the old style off of ebay and pc it together. I have a question, as the instructions show to use a hacksaw to cut part of the tie bar. Can someone either show me where that will need to be cut, or someone that has done it take a photo please? The upgrade won't arrive until next Tuesday and I'd like to see if I can use a grinder instead or if that won't be a wise choice.
Thanks,
Scott

That looks like the same saw guard kit I bought. There was no cutting of the tie bar but I did have to drill and tap two holes in it.

"Cutting" the tie bar makes no sense!

Perhaps I should have used the term Tube Boss, connected to the tie bar. This verbiage comes from the instruction sheet I got from SS.

IIUC that now makes sense. I do not think it makes any difference what tool us used to creates an almost straight/flat surface. File/ saw/ grinder/ cut off wheel.ScottyBox wrote:Perhaps I should have used the term Tube Boss, connected to the tie bar. This verbiage comes from the instruction sheet I got from SS.
