Just picked up a shopsmith and have been familiarising myself with all the parts. I am missing a chuck and a drive center, both fairly essential parts so my deal will end up costing me a fair bit more than expected, especially with shipping to canada and weak dollar.
I found a set of dado blades in the box but no arbour but I also found this. Anyone know what it is? It has a slot running the length of hthread - keyway??

Re: Can you identify this
That looks to me to be a shaper arbor with three rub collars missing. Is the threaded shaft 1/2" or 5/8".

I agree with Dusty,
Re the slot, there should be a "tongue washer", (flat washer with a protrusion on the inside that engages in the slot) that goes between the nut and the last collar.
You can see a tongue washer in this picture of a universal arbor, bottom row second from the left.
