Re: Found While Purging Files
Hi Dusty,
This came up a few months ago but I can't remember who had the same letter. We know the original Mark 5 Greenies in the 50's did not have the extra slot but that this was addition about 1960 for the Mark 5. Everything I have seen so far for the Mark 2 did have the extra slot in its table from its beginning. This may have been what led it to being added to the Mark 5 and also why it was done on the Mark VII. Another case of Shopsmith not remembering it's history and when things changed. It is why Everett's work on restoring the old Mark 5 manuals for us is important. With them we can find the changes and when they occurred making it easier for those restoring and maintaining older Mark 5's to get the right parts.

Re: Found While Purging Files
I have that same file and have referenced and posted it here but I do not recall if I found it here or somewhere else. I do know that I have known about this for a long while so it is either in our old days here or somewhere else.

Re: Found While Purging Files
Since I have been reading all the "SS history", when I found this I posted it just in case. I did not want to purge something that one of you "historians" might need.
