Need Advice on Selling Model ER sn3620

Post by ModelERsn36204 »

I have an old Model ER S/N 36204, that I obtained from a family member over 30 years ago. I am moving from Maryland to Florida in a few months and I do not want to move the ShopSmith. I would like some advice on the following:

What is the best way to sell it? Craig's list? ebay? other forums?

When was the Model ER S/N 36204 manufactured?

How much is it worth? I do have a whole table of attachment I would like to sell with it vice separately like I see on ebay.

I have attached a pictures of the ShopSmith, accessories, and the manual to help.

I really appreciate any insight that can be provided.

Thanks for the help, Chuck

IF the item in second pix at the front left is what I think it is, first store it away and retake those pix. As for selling it, Craigslist is likely the better option since it is quite heavy and local pickup will likely be your only option. It is worth what someone is willing to pay. Do not expect that to be a great amount.

Finally sell that stored item (if complete) on E-bay. It might bring more than the rest.

What are you thinking it is?

My guess was a grinding wheel dresser. But I have been wrong before,

I think it might be that elusive table height gauge/adjuster.

Almost looks like the rear fence lock (or part of it) for a 10E fence. But the fence in the picture has a fence lock.
Maybe the op could post a close up photo of it.

Need a better photo of this:

Likely made in late 1950, according to a chart I found on Everett Davis' Google Drive:

Thanks to everybody for your advice.

It does appear I have a Grinding Wheel Dressing Tool. I have attached a better picture of it. If I put that on eBay, what should I start the auction at?

Thanks, Chuck

jpg thought it might be a rare Shopsmith Table Raising Assembly for the 10E , and as such have some value.

Image

I suspect the grinding wheel dresser is pretty common, (I have one somewhere that I bought back in the 70's and have only used once or twice) and not particularly valuable.
