I can see the pic-view counter on my own threads, although I can't see them on yours. But how can you tell how many views are by humans, vs. bots? That's what intrigued me about your earlier post.fredsheldon wrote:Each photo has a view count associated with it. I just looked at the first photo in the blog. Very nice piece of work. I especially like the alignment of the segments.

That is what I would like to know, just out of curiosity. Here is another thing. The first picture now shows 13321 views but the forum topic page shows 1000086 views. Should they not be the same?BuckeyeDennis wrote:I can see the pic-view counter on my own threads, although I can't see them on yours. But how can you tell how many views are by humans, vs. bots? I do not think so as you can bypass the beginning of a thread to read just the unread post on whatever page the thread it up to. This would cause pictures not on the current page to not be viewed. The picture count would only increase if the page it was on was viewed.jsburger wrote:That is what I would like to know, just out of curiosity. Here is another thing. Re: My First Attempt at Bowl Making
I think that might be true except for the first page of the thread if it has pictures. In this case the picture in question is on the first page of the thread so when you click on the thread the picture is viewed because the page is displayed. I just tried it. I clicked on the thread and the pictures showed 13330 views. I went back out to the Forum home page and came back in and the pictures showed 13331 views.thunderbirdbat wrote:I do not think so as you can bypass the beginning of a thread to read just the unread post on whatever page the thread it up to. Unless you go to "quick links" -"unread posts" then it jumps you to the first entry that you have not read, normally the last few of a thread.jsburger wrote:I think that might be true except for the first page of the thread if it has pictures. OK, I guess you are using a different forum skin than I am. All these variable make the numbers unreliable.thunderbirdbat wrote:Unless you go to "quick links" -"unread posts" then it jumps you to the first entry that you have not read, normally the last few of a thread.jsburger wrote:I think that might be true except for the first page of the thread if it has pictures. You cannot start viewing a thread in anything other than the top post using your skin???? Doubt that!jsburger wrote:OK, I guess you are using a different forum skin than I am. Re: My First Attempt at Bowl Making
I tried that earlier (Unread Posts) but it didn't seem to work. I will try it again. However, if most readers don't do that it skews the numbers.JPG wrote:You cannot start viewing a thread in anything other than the top post using your skin???? Re: My First Attempt at Bowl Making
Once one has read the early posts, why would they do any thing other than jump to first unread????
