WD-40 (Brand) Specialist Rust Remover Soak

Post by reible »

Haven't tried it yet or even seen it in stores but I do like their other products.

https://www.amazon.com/WD-40-Specialist ... way&sr=8-2

A bit more expensive but not so out of line that I will not try a gallon at some point.

Anyone try this yet?

Over on youtube a chuck restoration included this product. Notable was that it appeared to NOT affect BLOX.

Wonder if that is correct!

James,

It does look like Evaporust! At $21.51 per gallon, delivered free with Amazon Prime, by Thursday... it's not too hard to find either, but neither is Evaporust...and it's only $16.85 per gallon, also delivered free with Amazon Prime, by Thursday...

So at some point, maybe in May I'll get a gallon of this stuff to see how it compares to other things I've used.

"Notable was that it appeared to NOT affect BLOX." if this is correct then I'll love it for a few things I have that I've left in original condition despite some light corrosion.

Wish I had some identical parts to test in both but can't think of anything at this time, that would be the best test. I think I have some Frog left too so it could be a three way test but then I would need 3 identical things....

BLack OXide (of iron) the surface treatment on arbors and such. As opposed to brown oxide (rust) :)
