Scroll saw variable speed foot switch?

Scroll saw variable speed foot switch?
SS sells a momentary (on-off) foot switch for the scroll saw. I was wondering if anyone had adapted a variable speed foot switch to work with the SS scroll saw replacing the variable speed power box on the saw? I did a search but found nothing... any thoughts?

Re: Scroll saw variable speed foot switch?
Don't think it will work with the motor. It's either OFF or ON.

I am not sure why you would want to do that. If such a switch exists I would think it would be very tedious to maintain a constant speed and get the same speed every time you stopped and started the saw.tucsonguy wrote:SS sells a momentary (on-off) foot switch for the scroll saw. The idea is that having to take your hand off the work to adjust speed when you want to go faster (a straight section) or want to slow down (curved complex section) would be a lot easier if done with a foot pedal while you use both hands to hold the work.jsburger wrote:I am not sure why you would want to do that.
