Hi Guys,
First of all, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to All!!
Ok, I just received an original lamp attachment part #(12-013) for my 10ER and I wanted to share the excitement with you all. With the pictures I have posted does anyone know what the original color was used on the lamp socket? It looks more like a Greenish gray. The socket is all brass underneath the paint. I thought about polishing the brass but that would take away its authenticity. The paint is scratched and has very little corrosion. I will have to replace the wire. It's very hard and brittle. The coolest thing is that it is stamped "SHOPSMITH" on the back of the lamp socket instead of Buffalo, NY. It was made by VIMCOLIGHT CO. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks!

So did you get it to donate to a museum, or did you get it to use.csxeng wrote:Hi Guys,

Nice find. They are not super rare but you don't see them very often. I have two here. One has no paint on the socket. The other one has most of the original paint. It is a light grey. As you say they have Shopsmith on the top of the socket.csxeng wrote:Hi Guys,

I have two them. One with the original paint that is in pretty good shape with only a couple of small chips of paint missing on the gooseneck. It is mounted on my 10ER's Jig Saw and just looking at it I see what you mean by a slight greenish gray. I don't know if that is from the well over sixty years since it was made or the fluorescent lights in my shop. My other one I painted a Nickel Silver which looks nice. Both, like yours, had to be rewired and work great with an LED bulb.
