Well everyone did very well on the game and yes the hint was right off the product listing so google was going to be your friend on this search.

As far as use, the dremel and some look alike tools have a nose piece that unscrews so you can attach things like flex shaft to the tool. In this case the threaded part on the tool screws in to the aluminum block.

Sometimes it is better to bring the tool to the project and sometimes it better to project to the tool. I have a drill press and it can be useful but trying to get it into a useful position can be trying. I think this tool will fix those issues and since you can put it in a vice or just clamp to a flat surface will help with stability concerns.

Yes it is expensive, I did look at a diy version but I would have needed a tap drill of 17mm and the tap(and tap holder), those two parts looked to cost me about $36 (plus a tap holder which I was not able to locate) without the material to drill and tap, and would have been single use items. So yes if you happened to have those tools in your shop then a diy project would be pretty simple.

I have a lot of elevator bolts I need to notch for a screw driver so I will be getting some use out of it right away.

Looks great Ed. I don't know it I use my dremel enough to warrant it though. Did you look at the Dremel Multi Vise as an alternative? It has more complexity but also offers more uses. Also don't know how all that plastic would hold up.

Having it be able to rotate was a big help but I still think the new method will get used more.

I end up using the dremel a far amount, it even works as a very light weight router and I have a few router bits for it.

This is the craftsman version and it came that way. Not sure if they are one to one matches or not.

I just went out and looked and you are right. Unbelievable that I have own this so many years not realizing its full capability and it is something I really could have used in cutting off small shafts, bolts, screws, etc. Thanks so much for posting.

I know this will be super easy for some of you but I don't think everyone will know what this is.

I have wanted one of these for 20-30 years, so now I have one. I have to wonder how well it will work on a backwards shopsmith but I'm sure going to give it a try.
