Welcome to the Forum,

That is a nicely equipped later Model 10ER. Not a lot of them have the Model 4E Jointer like yours. As for the What is this? next to the Lathe Tool Rest assembly it looks like something homemade that someone either used for a special purpose with their Shopsmith or it simply got thrown in with it. You also have the Shaper Fence that is for the Mark 5 but not everyone knows that it was made to work on the Model 10's too. It actually came out before the Mark 5. Below is a PDF of the original Owners Manual for it. Note it is being used on a Model 10ER.

Enjoy your project and keep us posted.

Mark V completely upgraded to Mark 7
Mark V 520
All SPT's & 2 Power Stations
Model 10ER S/N R64000 first one I restored on bench w/ metal ends & retractable casters.
Has Speed Changer, 4E Jointer, Jig Saw with lamp, a complete set of original accessories & much more.
Model 10E's S/N's 1076 & 1077 oldest ones I have restored. Mark 2 S/N 85959 restored. Others to be restored.

I laughed out loud when I saw the price list at the end of that attachment. Only one part was more than a dollar.

Hi Russ, thanks for the information. I'm amazed at how much information is available for something this old.

I started collecting manuals that I've come across reading online and realized the 10ER is like a swiss army knife of wood working machine =).

Step 1: Clean everything, my arms are already tired.

Question 1 - Is there anything on the 10ER that require calibration that I should not undo or take apart?

I'm always in a hurry to get my projects cleaned for inspection, I end up undoing something that was calibrated at the factoring with specialized tools that I cant reset.

This "As for the What is this? next to the Lathe Tool Rest assembly " is a stand alone device used to sharpen circular saw blades. The wire was use to set the distance to next tooth and then a file was used to file each tooth. The saw blade was mounted on the front and passed up through the roller. Height was adjusted by the screw shaft.
Used several time about 40 45 years ago. Probably use only dozen times. Wouldn't be very useful with the carbide blades.

He is referring to the non-SS item in the last photo on this post.

Hi Bob, thanks for the information. I would have never found what that was used for.

Joebob80,
Copied the instructions on how to use the saw, but not sure they will show up.
Had to reduce to get attached.
