Mark V Lower Saw Shield Question

Post by Jswan93426 »

Bought a previously owned Mark V. Based on Ser.# I was told it's a Model 500. Missing parts of lower saw shield. Customer Service told me I needed Tie Bar Shield 515288. It's not a fit. See attached photos. Based on these, what do I need to complete the lower saw shield? Please advise. I've asked Customer Service again, but have had no response yet. My goal is to minimize sawdust. Thanks!

The shield they sent you does go with that lower guard, It mounts on the tie bar under the table.
See the lower guard manual for how it mounts.

Your Saw Blade Guard is the original version of that set P/N 505875 that had only a 1-1/4" dust collection connection. It was upgraded and the tie bar shield you show is only part of the upgrade to two 2-1/2" dust collection ports. The first picture below shows the original Saw Blade Guard set. The second picture is the upgrade. Note the upper Blade Guard remained the same.

Without the complete upgrade package the part that attaches to the tie bar doesn't work well with the old lower part of the original guard.
