Beaver dam busters have been busy. The dam now has an opening and water is flowing through.

I have to walk in from another park now, well as of December 1, and that walk is upstream so as soon as I got to the stream I knew the dam had been breached. Not that I have great powers of fore knowledge but the stream bank says it all.

Pretty easy to see the former water level where the ice formed and where the water level is now.

Video is processing of what the dam looks like now. Will post the link when it is finished.

You should check out Lumnah Acres channel the maker of this channel just bought 500 acres in New Hampshire. He has been fighting Beavers since the start. Apparently they want to build their dam in areas that will flood out his access roads. In the linked video he visits two abandoned areas that hold old dams and Beaver lodges.

These are nice! thank you

I had a walk-about lately; my picture is modest. But as a woodworker it's fascinating. The town has a number of buckled-up sidewalk slabs that have been "beveled down" by a tool or method I don't yet know. Looks like something done with a precision router-sled or jointer-plane at an angle or even a compound angle, but it's on concrete!

In our area this is done to the side walks using a large angle grinder and diamond or carbide grinding wheel. The user patterns the grinding.

They would have used a concrete grinder, something similar to the one in this video.

Interesting walk today.

The beaver dams, have now been attacked by what I'm guessing was a backhoe. The big dam for sure as I could see the tracks, smaller dam might have been done by hand??

Anyway the navigation way is now open for all to pass.

So I'm going to give you links to 6 new videos that I shot today and up loaded. Various subject matter so check them out and see if you can find a favorite.

If you like sandhill cranes then at least watch the last one.
