Routing plywood

Re: Routing plywood
You could put solid wood edging on the ply and then shape that as desired. Another option, shape the ply and then put a thin coat of putty, bondo, whatever on the edge to fill in voids.

Re: Routing plywood
I THINK I will route a scrap piece of the same plywood and see what it looks like and then try several types of filler to see how it comes out. If that doesn’t meet need then laminate some solids pieces on it or use the banding.
Re: Routing plywood
a sloid wood edged , router about a 1/8 inch deep and 3/8 wide around the edge and over lap with laminate ?

Re: Routing plywood
I dont know what final shape you want, but if its a standard molding shape like a half round-you could just get some of that and glue it on the ply edge then paint.

Re: Routing plywood
Here is a photo of finished (not painted) tables. They were made per the requests from my daughter with here plans for the construction method and style. I decided to use round over router bit on plywood top and shelf and filled in some rough spots with wood filler. One full extension drawer in each. She will put knob after she paints. This would not have been a suitable method if it were to be stained but it what I was asked for.

And fine-looking tables they are! That uniform gap around the drawer wasn’t the work of a beginner.
I’m curious about your daughter’s painting plans. Any chance we can see a pic after she has worked her magic?

Re: Routing plywood
Yes, I’ll get her to send me pics. I believe she is painting black to match other stuff in room. Unfortunately black will show all imperfections. I hope she puts enough coats with in between sanding. I ‘ll suggest and see how that goes.
Re: Routing plywood
