Unable to access set screw on lower motor sheave

Post by Hearnelp »

Can’t seem to access the set screw on lower motor sheave... there is not enough room between sheave and motor to get long allen wrench in. Am I missing something here as to how it’s done.... or is there a trick? Thanks Lonnie

Thanks to you all for resisting the urge to tell me what an idiot I was. Figured this out on my own...

You might as well share for future readers that see the title and have the same problem. Did you use the access hole in the motor cover or remove the motor from the motor cover? Or? You weren't first and won't be last. ;) I "knew" the right way was to remove the motor from the cover for decades before someone here mentioned the access hole. :o

I accessed through the hole in the motor cover. The video I had watched wasn’t clear that set screw was accessible underneath the sheave.
