It's ok jpg40504,

We'll get him through it. I know it's really hard for me to explain fully when I myself don't really fully understand how my Shopsmith works!

dknowswd,

If you have the ability, you might try posting some pictures with your explanations. I know that can really help us all figure out just exactly what you need to help you fix your machine.

Duh! Unless he posts movies, they will be as confused as he is! He gave us a moving target all day.

If I come across as being frustrated it is because I devoted over an hour of my time today to try to help him, but, he insisted in going off and doing something else, answering concise questions incorrectly and drawing his own wrong conclusions.

I don't understand if he watched Nick and understood what(and why) Nick was saying, how he could continue on his path of further destruction.

Methinks he has inadequate understanding of what various part names mean. Each part in the area he was having difficulty has a meaningful and concise name.

END RANT!

jpg.....Take a deep breathe.

Now try placing yourself in the shop of a newbie with what he thinks are serious problems and reading them. Do you really think these are clear cut, easy to follow, anyone can do it instructions. I don't.

YESS I need a Big one!!! I vented too much. The poor guy was in over his head. He was looking for a magic bullet, but actually needed understanding of what he was doing/already did. We could only GUESS considering his variable descriptions. I think I overlooked the time lag/difference between posts.

The NEWBIE needed to understand the "too complicated" suggestions in order to get to the source of his 'problem'. This is why he was told to watch nicks sawdust session. It is also why I warned him to NOT proceed unless he did understand.

Had he followed my suggestions, he would have corrected his problem right away(yes this is a conclusion based upon his later descriptions).

Sorry guys I seem to be still 'venting', but he WAS frustrating.:o

I am sure he was himself far more 'FRUSTRATED'!

The most difficult part is that the conciseness(confusing/verbose/detailed) language needed to remotely 'guide' him becomes an obstacle(eyes glazing over while reading it). Also misinterpretation/misunderstanding of 'terms/parts' is equally an obstacle.

It didn't help that he had TWO identically named threads going!

DID you watch the sawdust session we referred you to before???????

Did you understand ANY of it??????

Have you paid detailed attention to ANY of the suggestions which SEVERAL people have given to you at considerable time and effort??????

:( :( :( :(
I watched the sawdust session and tried "nearly" everything, my lazy other self wants to wait to see if things are running fine. If the smell does'nt go away soon I will try to see if the sheaves are installed correctly.

Thanks for the help!
