With my luck, the cargo container that has my Christmas order has not yet been allowed into the harbor.

If what we read is true, there are many tons of merchandise planned for Christmas that won't be delivered on time.

Just two and three weeks ago going in and out of Long Beach/San Pedro Harbor (Los Angeles) it was amazing to see how many ships were waiting outside the harbor for their chance to unload. It looked like a parking lot for ships. Those May Day clearance sales may not be so far fetched.

I remember the days when the container ships were leaving the US, now we have become dependent on them coming in. Wow! Our economy is shot!

Maybe all of this supply shortage overseas will cause a resurgence in buying "Made in U.S.A." products. To my knowledge, not too many products made here will be put in a shipping container to move from one port to another. Much easier to move it by rail and truck.

US manufacturers would have to get their tooling returned from over there.
