Using up some Veneers etc.

Post by nuhobby »

Hi,

Here is something that SWMBO wanted, to sort out the incoming mail to the house. I used several different pieces of veneer bonded to thin plywoods. Running them over my "homemade SandFlee" really got them looking nice. I also used some thin copper sheets I had, to wrap protectors around the top edge of each panel.

Chris:

Nice idea, and very nice project!

I also like your use of the copper and may try something similar as I have some sheet material left over from copper roofed bird houses that I made.

I thought they would sell at craft shows but it seems nobody really wanted "luxury bird houses for rich birds". :D

Have fun

That's really nice, Chris! The copper really puts some snaz on the project!
Also, good job making your lady happy!:D

Thanks, Folks, for the kind words,

Say, I just thought I would point out a really neat designer from our 20th century history. Sometimes I think the "Mark V" streamlined design could be right off of his design pen:

It is hard to find one article that shows his whole span of work. The logos are numerous including Shell, Exxon, Hoover, etc. The Studebaker Avanti is his shape.

My own personal favorite is for the excellent rail-to-trail system here in Indianapolis. One sign along the trail explains all the details in the Monon logo by Raymond Loewy.
