Attn: "Goldie" Owners

Post by easterngray »

I am the owner of a 1960 Anniversary model Mark V 500; the production from 1960-1963 are known as "Goldies" due to the paint color scheme. I thought it would be great if we could get a list together of Goldie owners - we may be able to help each other out with parts, etc. I recognize that it's just a paint color, and parts are of course interchangable with other years productions, and that modern paints are available to turn "Greenie" parts for instance, into Goldie parts. But there may be some folks that would like to get original parts or SPT's that are the same year as their machine. Kind of the same mentality as automobile restoration, if you know what I mean. Any other Goldie owners out there that might be interested in raising their hands? I recognize that this is not an appropriate forum for buying and selling, but owners could contact each other off-list if they are looking for vintage parts to swap. Alec

Alec; I think you have a great idea there. A group of Goldie owners who are all willing to share information with one another about their specific models.

It would sure be nice if this forum was documented such that you could do a search and get a list of all members who have identified themselves as having "Goldies" or "Greenies" or whatever.

One way that it maybe could be done would be to establish a poll.

Dusty - Good idea! If you go to the "Members List" tab above, and then click the "Search Members" tab, and the click "advanced search" it will allow you to search the entries that members have entered into their "Woodworking Equipment" section of their profile. If members would put Goldie, or Greenie, or Jointech, or whatever there, you CAN search and find members according to the equipment they have listed - pretty neat!! Alec

I'm sorry, Alec. I'm a bit slow at some things. This is one of them. I think I am doing what you suggest but I don't get there. I don't seem to be able to zero in on "Woodworking Equipment" as listed in the profiles.

It would be neat if it works this way.

Thanks for trying, Ivan. I appreciate your patience. Is this what you have for the "Advanced Search Option"?
